The Staff:

Tim McClain: Owner/Operator and River Guide (‘good-time coordinator’)

I'm a native of Ridgway with a mission that is simple, to provide our customers with 26 years of Clarion River paddling experience, second to none. My Passion for the sport of paddling has taken me around the world to paddle some of the most interesting waters. My love for the Hawaiian Islands has taken me their four times to experience the extreme sport of ocean reef kayaking. Bringing my ocean kayaking skills to this river has been a very valuable addition to our kayaking and canoeing lessons that LRCR provides for the beginner. Water sports on this wild and scenic river is our specialty, and our goal is to pass on our passion for the Clarion River to the up-and-coming generations!!!

 

Howard "Spike" McClain:  Owner/Operator

"You may recognize the name from my construction company based in St. Marys, PA. Construction is my livelihood, but on my days off, I enjoy my time with family and friends. Recreation is an important part of our lives and to be able to offer this caliber of fun to people who love to float the Clarion, is a real thrill. Tim, Amanda and all of the staff are committed to making your float the best experience possible. We operate with great equipment, at a great location, and are determined to provide you with an experience that will make you anxious to plan your next float."

First and foremost I love being a mom. Jewel is my sweetheart and I love her and her dad with all my heart! I am a native to Ridgway, and love working in my own community. It's fun helping everyone get things in line for their float. Even though I volunteer my time at LRCR, I work like I own the place. I'm not just a pretty face either. My credentials include training in the US Army, where I became a licensed diesel mechanic. So when you hear that LRCR Van purring in your direction to pick you up, you'll know who's keeping those glow plugs glowing! So come on into LRCR and I will help accommodate all your needs.
